HALL08 - "Ontmoetingsportaal"

Een project van TAAT (Breg Horemans, Gert-Jan Stam, Ilona van den Brekel, Jenny Case, Kevin Osenau, Pichaya Puapoomcharoen en Ariane Chapelet.)

HALL08 is een portal voor ontmoetingen.

Stille ontmoetingen.

HALL08 is een open raamwerk.

Het is in constante dialoog met zijn omgeving en zijn tijdelijke bewoners.

HALL08 is een rituele oefening.

Een meditatieve activering van je zintuiglijke bewustzijn.

Zo werkt het:

Begin met wandelen door het gebied rond HALL08.

Langzaam en bewust.

Loop met bepaalde tussenpozen naar en in HALL08.

U kunt verschillende manieren proberen om te naderen en binnen te komen.

Blijf alsjeblieft altijd volledig stil (niet praten) wanneer je bezig bent met HALL08.

Blijf zo vaak u wilt weg van en keer terug naar HALL08.

Het minimum is drie keer.

Je zult merken dat je ervaring met HALL08 bij elke inzending zal verdiepen.

En er komen steeds meer mogelijkheden voor ontmoetingen.

Let op hoe je loopt.

Merk op hoe je ademt.

Dit is de werktafel van HALL08. We nemen U mee doorheen het werkproces van HALL08, de relatie tot het langetermijnproject HALL33, en de verschillende stappen die 'het werk maken'. Onze hele praktijk is op te vatten als een zoektocht naar de verhoudingen en condities van hoe werk wordt gemaakt. U bent uitgenodigd om in gesprek te gaan met een andere bezoeker op de verschillende 'stations' aan de tafel. Neem gerust ook een printout mee per werkstation.

HALL08: wat is het 'werk'? 

HALL08 bestaat uit verschillende delen die met elkaar in interactie zijn en samen het werk uitmaken. Wat direct zichtbaar is, is de materiële installatie in het bos. De tastbare installatie is het resultaat van een werkproces van materiële arbeid en immateriële arbeid. Op scherm A ziet U een traag videoverslag per dag (in totaal 2u35').

- Henri Lefebvre, Production of Space: ‘Social space is not a thing among other things [...] It is the outcome of a sequence and set of operations, and thus cannot be - reduced to the rank of a simple object. I'm writing in the forest. A young boy, maybe 12 years old, says hi to me. Then another one, slightly younger. Behind my back, other children chattering. 'Where is our flag?', one asks. The forest around me is the decorum for a game. They seem very engaged in it. I feel the odd one out. Just opened my laptop, sitting on one of the 'window seals' of HALL08. 

       I just came back from a bike ride and walk in a nearby nature reserve, attempting to map the ecosystem of the Dommel river as a first exploration of a workshop we are organizing here in autumn. On the train to pelt this morning I was reading the introduction to Escobar's book 'Designs for the pluriverse'. The idea of a matriscally organised society based on conviviality instead of competition stayed with me during this first half of the day. Meanwhile I hear tiny raindrops hitting the roof of leafs above me. They become louder. My laptopscreen that seems still fully protected by the sea of leaves is about to get wet. Or maybe not. I will have to move elsewhere if it does, but I like this extended moment in time, where it might or it might not persist. An in-between-street (Tussenstraat) between two fluid territories. Territories of attention between sitting here or moving elsewhere.

Since last time we gathered here together, HALL08's crookedness increased. The installation made contact with three trees (twee definately touching and one almost). At the first glance it could fall over. But after some logical reasoning, there are at least two trees that are sturdy enough to fight against HALL08's tendency in moving towards gravity. As a first active... (raining harder)
